Past Exhibits The main exhibit space on level two of the DCMA changes annually. There are several reasons to make this our practice including conservation of the artifacts by only exposing them to light for a one year period. As well, donors like to see their objects on display so changing the exhibits allows us to use more of the collection. A third reason is that it keeps our members and supporters coming back on a more regular basis as they know they will see ‘something different’. Each annual exhibit is themed and labeled to allow the avid collector or family member to know more about the objects themselves. Please enjoy these exhibits from past years and get in the practice of visiting us at least once a year to enjoy the work of our talented staff.

DCMA Exhibits WJ Hughes Corn Flower DCMA Art Shows Historic Art Exhibits 2011 – Textiles: More Than Words Can Say Read more The Dufferin County Museum & Archives main exhibit for 2011 will feature a wide range of textiles specifically selected from the Museum’s extensive textile collection. Handmade fabrics such as coverlets and woven blankets represent the pioneer period. Examples of Victorian to Contemporary fashion certainly will prove that everything old does become new again. Fashion accessories such as jewelery, fans, and shoes strengthen the exhibit. Quilts and hand hooked rugs represent the skill and artistry of our local residents from 1860 to 1960.
