As well as human soldiers, animals played an important part in Canadian military history. The recent success of ‘War Horse’ has made us all aware of the casualties of war other than human. Curator Wayne Townsend will talk about the local horses that went to war and the local men who rode them and cared for them in conflict. A surprising and compelling research project unique to Dufferin County that is tied to a historical story that reaches all ages and backgrounds.
